Gloria Koch Leonidas Memorial Scholarship Application
Application for the IES Puget Sound chapter’s Gloria Koch Leonidas Memorial Scholarship to attend an approved conference. This scholarship was established to help students and emerging lighting professionals to attend a conference to advance their education and experience as lighting professionals.
Applicant Qualifications:
Lighting students and/or emerging lighting professionals living within the Puget Sound area with fewer than 5 years of lighting experience.
Qualifying Lighting Events:
IES Annual Conference
IALD Enlighten Americas
Lightfair
IES education classes (cost of class)
IES Street and Area Lighting Conference
Other conferences may be eligible, please submit information
Scholarship Amount: Varies.
How to Apply
Step One:
- Provide a resume or CV of your lighting experience and education.
- Provide one letter of recommendation from an established lighting or design industry professional.
- Provide a 150-word answer to the following question regarding your Annual Conference attendance: How will your professional development benefit by attending the event(s) selected?
Step Two:
For the final selection, you will be interviewed by members of the IES Puget Sound Scholarship committee for final approval.
Step Three:
After attending the approved conference, provide a 500-word essay on the following:
What did you learn or accomplish at the Conference?
(to be submitted within 1 month after attending the Annual Conference.)

Applications and letters of recommendation for events should be submitted before April 28th, 2022.
